We recognise the importance of the community in which we all work and live and we support local good causes with our expertise, encouragement and funding as appropriate. Every financial year we nominate a local charity to benefit from and to provide a focus for, our fundraising activity.
This year, the partners and staff have chosen Open Road to benefit from our support. An established Drug and Alcohol Recovery support charity in Essex and Medway, Open Road provides services to support individuals on their journey to recovery from drug and alcohol addiction.
For the 2021/2023 nominated charity, the partners and staff selected Next Chapter (formerly known as Colchester & Tendring Women's Refuge). Next Chapter is a domestic abuse charity working across the region.
The 2018/21 charity St Helena, which helps local people in North East Essex with an incurable illness to live well and die with dignity and choice.
The 2016/17 charity was The Essex Air Ambulance.
The 2015/6 charity was the Cirdan Sailing Trust.
The 2013/5 charity was The Ark Centre, Harwich.
We are also pleased to support the following organisations:
