Every financial year Whittles nominates a local charity to benefit from and to provide a focus for, our fundraising activity throughout the year.

This year, the partners and staff have selected Next Chapter (formerly known as Colchester & Tendring Women’s Refuge). Next Chapter is a domestic abuse charity working across the areas of Tendring, Colchester, Maldon, Chelmsford, Braintree & Uttlesford, providing free and confidential services to support people who are currently experiencing, or have previously experienced domestic abuse.

Whittles’ managing partner, Rachel Skells, explains the choice of charity:
“There are so many good causes in the communities in which we all live and work and they all deserve donated funds to ensure their vital services continue. We try to identify charitable organisations that are particularly active in the Colchester and West Mersea areas and this is particularly true of Next Chapter and the lifeline they provide in terms of support and refuge to those living with domestic abuse,”

You can donate online via Next Chapter’s website, or if visiting either of the Whittles offices, there will be donation boxes in the reception areas.

Whittles’ previous nominated charity was St Helena Hospice.
